Sweden's leading Orchestra guaranteed to impress

Camerata Sweden has been stimulating audiences worldwide for four years.

As Sweden's leading chamber orchestra, Camerata Sweden has performed in New York City, Washington D.C., the Lied Center in Lawrence, Kans. and Spivey Hall in Atlanta, Ga.

On Feb. 19, they will perform at Luther as part of the spring portion of the Center Stage Series.

A unique and talented ensemble, Camerata Sweden performs without the aid of a conductor on the stage.

They are renowned for the beauty of their music and their ability to create musical unity while playing so many different instruments.

The musicians in Camerata Sweden are competitively selected from the best Scandinavian orchestra players.

Some of the music they perform was done in collaboration with distinguished artists like James Galway, Barbary Bonney and Barry Tuckwell, among many others.

They have previously been chosen to represent Sweden abroad in the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Brazil and Argentina as well as in many other countries.

They are also featured regularly on Swedish television and radio and have released numerous CDs focusing on Scandinavian composers.

The American Record Guide recorded the group's CD and praised the group.

"Their playing is a delight - crisp, bright, and expressive."

The popularity of this prestigious string orchestra has been growing worldwide and the Center Stage Series is proud to feature them at Luther College.

Tickets for the performance are currently on sale in the box office.
