PowerNet Global To Launch PowerConnect High Speed Dial-up Internet Access
PowerNet Global To Launch PowerConnect High Speed Dial-up Internet Access
CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 2004--PowerNet Global Communications, an integrated communications provider offering voice and data telecommunications and Internet services to business and residential customers, today announced the launch of PowerConnect High Speed(TM), a new unlimited dial-up Internet access service that delivers up to five times faster Web surfing and a pop-up blocker. It requires no additional hardware and works with a regular phone jack. The standard price will be $14.95 per month, with lower prices available when bundled with other PowerNet Global services."For our residential and affinity markets, this is an exciting new product that boosts value for customers, as well as revenue per customer for our agents," said Executive Vice President Larry Moses. "We expect an enormous response to PowerConnect High Speed(TM) at our price points, with five email accounts, a pop-up blocker, and 24-hour technical support included. It's the type of speed customers want, on a dial-up connection that's far more affordable than broadband, and priced even under conventional dial-up services that don't offer the enhanced speed. There's simply not a comparable value out there, and when you combine all the services we can bundle on one simple bill, it's a powerful scenario."
PowerConnect High Speed(TM) utilizes caching and compression technology to provide an accelerated Web surfing experience. By compressing graphics and storing data when a website is accessed, the user experiences up to five times faster Web page loading and surfing. The longer the high speed service is used, the faster websites that the user frequents will load.
The new product is also an option for PowerNet's Virtual ISP customers. Virtual ISP provides a fast, easy way for any organization or affinity group to become an Internet service provider (ISP) -- without devoting the significant resources traditionally needed to operate a fully branded ISP program.
PowerNet Global will market PowerConnect High Speed(TM) through its nationwide network of independent communications agents and affinity groups.
