VocalData Upgrades Application Server to Enhance Legacy and SIP Interoperability and Boost Residential and Web Portal Features
Version 5 also adds new international, installation and administration features to make VoIP deployments as streamlined as possible for service providers
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2004--VocalData, Inc., an application developer of hosted IP telephony solutions, today revealed Version 5 of its industry-leading application server, with several new features designed to meet the needs of its service provider customers.
The new features in Version 5 include:
-- Increased SIP Support - VocalData has leveraged its unique knowledge of the SIP standard - based on its experience with the VocalData customer NTT COMWARE, which has the world's largest managed network SIP deployment at nearly 40,000 endpoints - to enhance its SIP interoperability with a wide range of VoIP devices and network elements. In Version 5 of its application server software, VocalData has increased its SIP support/interoperability for a long list of new IADs, softphone and IP phones as well as proxy servers, softswitches and session border controllers. This makes it easier for VocalData's service provider customers to integrate the application server with various network elements and to build extensions to support more features. This further validates VocalData's commitment to increasing choices for service providers and their customers by supporting the greatest number of VoIP devices and protocols available today.
-- Legacy Enterprise Enhancement - VocalData has extended its PBX trunking capabilities to complement its existing IP-trunking features to provide comprehensive support for legacy enterprises. This means that service providers can now confidently offer hosted IP telephony services to their enterprise customers without requiring them to immediately abandon their existing PBX's. Instead, those enterprise customers can use VocalData's web portal to set up and access enhanced VoIP features, without having to purchase IP phones.
-- New Residential VoIP Capabilities - On the heels of its 20,000 residential users milestone, VocalData has added new residential VoIP functionality to its "must have" residential package for service providers, including features such as call block, call return, privacy/caller ID blocking and enhanced 911 support.
-- Improved Web Portal - VocalData has added even more flexibility to its web portal, which already allows service providers to quickly create a personalized, browser-based customer web portal to boost brand awareness and increase customer ease-of-use.
-- Enhanced International Features - The VocalData application server now offers complete system internationalization and web portal instructions as well as voice prompts in a total of five languages: Japanese, French, English, Spanish and Dutch.
-- Installation and Administration Enhancements - VocalData has added a long list of administrative enhancements to its application server to support various administrative tasks. These and other enhancements make virtually every aspect of VoIP administration and provisioning easier, less tedious and less complex for service providers.
"Customers are constantly asking us to add new features to our application server that meet their unique needs, and we responded in our new Version 5 with a long list of enhancements designed to directly address our service provider customers' requests," said Mark Whittier, vice president, VocalData. "With more live deployments than any other application server vendor, VocalData is the only application developer with the experience to deliver a best-in-class product to the marketplace."
VocalData's application server is the most cost-effective and robust application server on the market today, supporting the greatest number of calls per second while also delivering unparalleled carrier-class reliability.
