Developers to Learn Latest in Web Services Offerings at Annual eBay Developers Conference in New Orleans

Two-day Conference For eBay and PayPal Developers Will Feature Keynotes by Internet Pioneer Tim O'Reilly, eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar and eBay COO Maynard Webb

eBay (Nasdaq:EBAY), The World's Online Marketplace, today announced details of the 2004 eBay Developers Conference, the annual gathering of eBay and PayPal developers that will be held June 23-24 in New Orleans. The eBay Developers Conference will feature keynotes by Internet Pioneer and publisher Tim O'Reilly, eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar and eBay COO Maynard Webb. Designed to empower third parties to build businesses that tap into the power of the eBay and PayPal platforms, the conference's full schedule includes panel discussions, technical and business sessions, social events and hands-on labs.
Attendees will benefit from being first to see the latest from eBay and PayPal new Web services offerings, the latest development tools and other resources that will enable them to create software solutions for automating and accelerate business processes, and create greater efficiencies for buying and selling on the eBay and PayPal platforms. The conference's two-day agenda will appeal to all developers and businesses, regardless of their level of technical experience. Five different tracks are being offered:

O'Reilly will kick off the conference with a look at the killer applications of the Web era in his keynote entitled, "The Architecture of Participation." He will be followed by Webb, who will share insight into eBay's technology evolution and vision. Later in the conference, O'Reilly will join Omidyar for an "insider's" look at the future of eBay and PayPal platforms.

O'Reilly and Omidyar will also present awards to the winners of eBay's Star Developer Awards program, which will honor the application that shows the most innovative use of the eBay Platform and the individual who has contributed the most to the eBay Developer community.
